"I had no idea the transformation my body would undergo from working with you. I'd always expected Rolfing/Structural Integration work to be invasive or painful, and instead I find your work gentle, subtle, and intuitive yet methodical. It is such a joy to wake in the morning without any stiffness! I am amazed at the new mobility in my shoulders and my overall sense of freedom. I took a 2-1/2 hour hike this week with absolutely no pain from a bunion I've had for twenty years. I'm grateful for the new level of vitality and wholeness I'm experiencing in my body, and I deeply appreciate your responsive and insightful manner." - Theta Michele Drivon, certified teacher of Alexander Technique "the Art of Living with Conscious Alignment"
"When I first came to Mark, I could not walk without stiffness in my feet and ankles. I was conscious of pain each time I took a step. After a couple of months of weekly then bi-weekly sessions, I could not believe the improvement!!! I was pain free! At that point, I decided I would continue with regular sessions to work on overall health and wellness. Mark helped me realize the value of being conscious of my posture and how it affects my body. He also provided me with simple strengthening exercises that have worked wonders on my knees. I wish I had done rolfing years ago!" - Nancy B.
"I had worn a lift in my shoe for years. My left leg felt shorter than my right. I was having a lot of back pain. After Mark worked with me for a while he suggested that the problem was not a discrepancy in the length of my legs but a structural problem. After several sessions with him, I felt balanced, took the lift out and haven't worn it since. He also helped me through a sprained ankle, and several other issues. I highly recommend him for structural integration work. He's also a very pleasant person."

"I was nervous about getting the Rolphing series of 10--in fact I put it off for about a year. I read that it was painful, and I wasn’t sure how the sessions would affect my body (or my emotions, for that matter). I have scoliosis, though, and I had been having issues with my joints for about two years, so I faced my fears in search of relief.
I have had monthly deep tissue massages and chiropractic adjustments for two years, but they never addressed the connective tissue of my body. I noticed temporary relief after a bodywork session, but the tension and pain always returned.
I recently completed the series of 10 with Mark, and I wish I had done it sooner! The sessions were comfortable and relaxing, and he helped clear up the discomfort in my ribs, shoulders, hips, ankles, and knees. I was also able to remove the lift from my right shoe after a few sessions (which I’ve worn for over two years), and I am running and dancing again, which I haven’t been able to do for almost a year.
After about seven sessions, my massage therapist said she could tell that my spine was straighter and my ribs were flatter. The shifts in my body were subtle, and I didn't notice obvious changes in my alignment--I simply noticed that my joint pain was gradually disappearing; I appreciated having external feedback about the structural improvement in my body.
Thank you Mark for helping me reclaim my physical alignment! I feel free to exercise again, and I can’t tell you how much that means to me. I plan to come back every couple of months for a 'tune-up.'"

"When I started Rolfing I really had no idea what to expect. At that point in my life I was desperate for any type of relief. I have a history of a herniated disc in my low back requiring surgery because I had weakness in my left foot. For a year after the surgery I struggled with low back pain most days of the week, numbness and weakness in my left foot. I couldn't do 10 minutes of cardio without my foot becoming so numb I had to stop. This was very difficult for me as I used to be a runner, train for half marathons and was extremely active.
I had tried everything to try to help. Yoga, pilates, massage, activity restrictions, ice, anti-inflammatories and physical therapy. You name it, I tried it. Nothing really gave me any lasting relief until I began Rolfing.
Rolfing has changed my life. I started by going once a week for 7-8 weeks. By the fourth week I could see a dramatic improvement in my back pain. By the sixth week I was doing cardio again without numbness in my foot and by eight weeks I was essentially low back pain free which was hard for me to believe after struggling with it for over a year.
I now go to Rolfing at least once a month. I haven't had any back pain in almost three months since completing the eight once-a-week sessions. I also have seen a significant improvement in my left foot strength and numbness which had allowed me to begin running again and perform virtually any type of cardio without restriction.
Rolfing has enabled me to do certain exercises in Pilates that normally would have caused back pain. It has also given me more self awareness of my body in general. I encourage anyone who struggles with any type of chronic pain or joint problems to try Rolfing. I am amazed at how well my body has responded to it. Mark and his Rolfing practice has changed my life. I am now completely pain free and doing all activities without restrictions which several months ago was not possible. I am grateful that I was open to trying something new because it works and I couldn't be more appreciative of Mark and his Rolfing practice.
